  • ¼ cup softened butter

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture into the flour mixture along with softened butter. Stir until combined.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Shape into a ball, place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Punch down the dough, shape into loaves or rolls, place in greased pans, and allow to rise again for about 30 minutes.
