  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar; let it foam for 5 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, eggs, melted butter, and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture; stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl; cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing chopped apples with cinnamon and sugar.
  5. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle; spread melted butter and sprinkle the apple-cinnamon mixture.
  6. Roll tightly into a log; cut into 12 equal pieces.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish; cover and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
