  • 2 cups diced Honeycrisp or Fuji apples
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and celery; sauté until soft and fragrant.
  3. In a large bowl, combine toasted bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, diced apples, dried cranberries, herbs, and enough chicken broth to moisten thoroughly.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil for the last 5 minutes to crisp the top.
  5. Let cool slightly before fluffing with a fork and serving.
