  1. In a large bowl, mix sourdough starter, flour, sugar, and salt until combined. Stir in melted butter until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about five minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise at room temperature for about two hours or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle about half an inch thick and evenly sprinkle chocolate chips over the surface.
  5. Roll up the dough tightly from one long side to form a log. Slice into two-inch pieces and arrange them upright in greased muffin tins.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
