  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 cups peeled and sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend cold butter, granulated sugar, and flour until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared dish to form the crust.
  3. Toss sliced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon in another bowl. Spread evenly over the crust.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter until crumbly; sprinkle topping over the apples.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Let cool slightly before slicing into bars.
