  • 1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and yeast in a bowl; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.
  3. Add yeast mixture along with melted butter and pumpkin puree to dry ingredients; mix until combined.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).
  6. Punch down the risen dough and roll out into a rectangle.
  7. Spread softened butter over the dough; sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and chai spice blend.
  8. Roll tightly into a log shape; slice into even pieces and place cut-side up in an oiled baking dish.
  9. Let rolls rise again for about 30 minutes before preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Bake for approximately 25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. While baking, mix cream cheese frosting ingredients until smooth; drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
