  • 1 cup whole milk (240ml)
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast (7g)
  • 2 tbsp sugar (25g)
  • 1 tsp salt (6g)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (60g)
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: Warm the milk until lukewarm, then mix in the yeast and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Prepare the dough: In a bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  5. Shape & second rise: Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, place it in a greased pan, cover again, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
