Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • ½ cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar; let sit until bubbly (about 5 minutes). In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Add melted butter and eggs to yeast mixture; mix in dry ingredients until combined.
  2. Knead the Dough: On a floured surface, knead dough for about 8 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about an hour.
  3. Prepare Filling: Chop apples and mix with brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  4. Roll Out Dough: Once dough has risen, punch it down and roll into a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Spread melted butter over it and sprinkle apple mixture evenly on top.
  5. Shape Rolls: Roll tightly from one long side into a log shape; cut into 12 equal pieces. Place in a greased baking dish and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  6. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for about 25 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
