  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella)
  • ½ cup diced ham or cooked bacon

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm water and sugar, sprinkle yeast on top, stir gently, and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Prepare the dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well, pour in the yeast mixture and melted butter. Mix until combined; knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  3. First rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Shape rolls: Punch down the dough, roll it out into a rectangle, sprinkle with cheese and ham/bacon, then roll tightly from one end.
  5. Second rise: Slice into sections (about 2 inches each) and place upright in a greased baking dish. Cover and let proof for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F.
  6. Bake: Brush melted butter over the tops of the rolls, bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
