  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins (plumped in warm water)
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and sugar; sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Add melted butter, cinnamon, and half of the flour mixture to the yeast mixture; stir until combined. Gradually add remaining flour until a dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the dough and fold in plumped raisins.
  6. Shape into a loaf or rolls, place in greased pans, cover, and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
