  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground meat in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked; drain grease and transfer to the crockpot.
  2. Sauté diced onions and minced garlic in the same skillet until softened (about 5 minutes); add to the crockpot.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour in 4 cups of water or broth; mix well.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  6. About 30 minutes before serving, add broken lasagna noodles; cover until tender.
  7. Serve hot topped with ricotta and mozzarella cheese.
