  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 fresh jalapenos (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, salt, thyme, and parsley.
  3. Add olive oil to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Gently fold in cheese and jalapenos.
  6. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Punch down the dough gently; shape into a loaf or rolls. Let rise again for about 30 minutes before baking at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 25-30 minutes.
