  • 2 lbs Russet Potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups Gruyere Cheese, grated
  • 1 ½ cups Heavy Cream
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Fresh Thyme leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish.
  2. Layer half of the potato slices in the dish, then pour half of the cream mixture made by melting butter, adding garlic, cream, salt, pepper, and thyme.
  3. Sprinkle half of the Gruyere cheese over the potatoes. Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes until tender. Remove foil for the last 10 minutes to brown the top.
  5. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
