  • 2 large eggs
  • Zest and juice of 2 fresh oranges
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  5. In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the orange zest and juice.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow cooling before cutting into squares.
