Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting
  • 12 oz chocolate melts (dark, milk, or white)
  • 12 cake pop sticks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan. Mix the red velvet cake mix with eggs, vegetable oil, and water according to package instructions. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack, then crumble it into fine pieces in a large bowl.
  3. Mix in cream cheese frosting until fully combined. Roll tablespoon-sized portions into balls and place on a parchment-lined tray.
  4. Melt chocolate melts according to package instructions. Dip one end of each stick into melted chocolate before inserting halfway into each cake ball.
  5. Chill the tray of cake pops in the fridge for about an hour to firm up.
  6. Dip each chilled pop into melted chocolate until fully coated. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing them back on parchment paper.
