  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in red food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture; mix until just combined.
  6. Drop dough onto prepared sheets, spacing them about two inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
