  • 8 oz dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp finely ground coffee beans (preferably espresso)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 tbsp Kahlúa liqueur

Instructions

  1. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and place it in a heatproof bowl. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it simmers, then pour over the chocolate. Let sit for 5 minutes before stirring until smooth.
  2. Mix in the finely ground coffee and any optional flavorings until well combined.
  3. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for about 2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
  4. Once chilled, use a melon baller to scoop out small portions and roll them into balls.
  5. Roll each truffle in cocoa powder until fully coated.
