  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes (fire-roasted preferred)
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 cups beef broth (low-sodium recommended)
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp chili powder

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, add a bit of oil and sauté diced onions and minced garlic until translucent.
  2. Add the ground beef or turkey, cooking until browned. Break it apart with a spatula.
  3. Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, black beans, kidney beans, and beef broth. Mix well.
  4. Sprinkle in chili powder and any other desired spices. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer for about 20 minutes.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed before serving hot.
